Thank you for the thoughts and teachings on friendship and what it means and how important it is. I cherish my friends for who they are not which political party they belong to! we are all children of God.

I thought this was so good, but especially for an All Saints Sunday coming up two days before the election. Christian gives us a beautiful picture of what it means to be a “saint.”

I love this chapter of your new book. Yesterday I asked my 60 year old daughter what she remembered about kindergarten. She remembered the first day taking hand of a crying girl and telling her it would be fun.

Upon seeing this picture and reading the story, tears welled up in my eyes also from a place deep within my heart that resonates with the impact of such a simple profound illustration of grace. I most certainly will read your new book. Thank-you for your relentless defense of the truth.

A timely book and a timely excerpt in a time when we can mostly, only be friends with those who love us and agree with us.

This post is life-giving. It is oxygen for the soul. It is a balm for the spirit. It refreshes the heart. Thank you. It's a grace to have the weight of this time lessened, if only for a while. You are a grace and a blessing, Dr. Bass.

Thank you for this story. With what was going on in Washington (and around the country) today it was a much-needed injection of hope. We have a group that meets (by Zoom) on Monday nights. We are working our way through some very challenging issues about race, inclusion, what the word "reparations" actually means, and reclaiming the heart of the gospel - which we see as the sermon on the mount. We are wrestling both with our faith (as opposed to only our beliefs), with our historic church engagement (which doesn't seem very engaged with the community) and we are trying to figure out what to do individually and collaboratively. So, we cut a check to help families impacted by Covid keep their utilities going. We are collecting coats for the Chicago winter. Maybe, like Connor and Christian, we can learn to reach out our hands and be surprised by how full they might become.
