Your phrase “ the rhythm of gardens” resounded for me , actually screamed at me! It feels like a promise that God expects and even requires rhythm for life. These days feel so often tumultuous that I need reassurance that God is always working somewhere, sometime, somehow and through someone to take care of Life. I hope to be the someone sometime and somehow.

Thank you for your article today Diana. There is nothing like gardening! I enjoy it immensely! Weeding, clipping, planting and getting your hands dirty, it always seems to ground me. The end results are always uplifting too. I am enjoying your book “Freeing Jesus”. A big thank you! 💖

Luke 10 has challenged me to think how it could apply in our time. It tells about that second missionary expedition of the 70 (plus the two he at first discouraged) after the return of th he 12. This group was not just the advance party for Jesus headed to Jerusalem - They were practicing what it would take to move Christianity into the wider world. They appeared to be vulnerable homeless people, but they were trained missionaries sent out 2 by 2. They were told not to get side-tracked by others on the road, but to keep their focus on the homes where they would stay in the communities they visited. It seems they were sent to do three things: Drive out evil spirits. Heal people in their distress. Plant seeds of beloved communities of faith. We need to find ways to do that these days.
