Thanks for focusing on Psalm 1. So often overlooked, Psalms is the book Jesus quoted more than any other.
Rootedness is the way, the way is rootedness.
As a younger man, I longed for the stability and rootedness of trees:
Would
I would like to be a tree
to know my place
and to know it so well,
grounded in the soil
raised by the sun
fed and bred by the wind
drinking from the stream
of living water,
to live instinctually and to have
all my leaves tended for me,
to grow up and down equally,
counterbalance of desire,
knowing always where I am
is where I’ll be and end
this rootless wandering.
Today, I aspire to be one of many trees, united in harmony, rooted in the sacred forest.
