I have already posted but I want to add today to this community. Thankful to all of you. Our adult Granddaught is OK. Her apartment building caught on fire Two apartments down from her. Her's was only smoke filled. But she was one of several people outside in 13 degree weather not dressed for it. We grabbed some stuff and dressed and went to see how we could help. She is with us as she pivots to recovery. But I thought of Diana's letter to us and to this communitiy and you gave me strength Oh this happened (the call) at 2:00AM .All of you thank you for being here even when you don't know it. Love Bonita

Thank you! Your words give me hope. I just tested positive today and the emotional pain has left me in despair so your words of encouragement have given me new strength for a clear path.

Thank you so much, Diana. It's just what I/we needed as we edge into this new year. So much to worry about, but your words help enormously. So grateful for The Cottage and you.

Apparently, the almost one million cases was not just one day. According to CTV: "The 978,856 new infections on Monday includes some cases from Saturday and Sunday, when many states do not report."

I'm just wondering if we wouldn't be happier if we'd stop wishing for things as they were.... and stop asking for the end date. If it is going to take years til we are all sufficiently vaccinated or contract COVID so we have antibodies that way, should we not find new ways to meet our BASIC needs for community and connection?

Thanks for speaking the truth, Diana. I'm one of those people with medical concerns, and it means so much every time a leader takes a courageous stand on behalf of the vulnerable.

This is so good! A reminder that I am not alone, and many key sentences. A return to zoom, yes. Streaming is great but worshipping only with a view of the bacck of heads@ well zoom is at least better. I cherish your wisdom as we move into 2022. I will share!

Thank you for this post, and for a sensible, compassionate perspective. Holding fast to on-line meetings and other steps to limit exposure is an ongoing challenge, and even though most people are on the same page, I am doing that in the face of vociferous objections and tantrums. Thank you for reminding ME to be compassionate in the face of difficulties and challenges.

Wisest, most comforting advice I've read. Some of us are thrown into situations that compromise best practice---funeral luncheons, for example. Thankful for the fellowship and the comfort I can give--that trumps common sense. Next time, I'll do better. Or maybe the time after that.
