I am so grateful that a friend shared your words on Facebook. I needed this today more than ever. To frame this as a season of Lent is perfect. This has already helped me to change my perspective. Thank you for that!
Hi Diana. I'm concerned about the way your election is shaping up and hope that there is a peaceful and democratic outcome. Not much I can do from New Zealand, but I just want you to know that you are not alone as you face the next few months.
I think this is a wonderful idea...supportive of ourselves in this time of fear and grief and also a way to commit to taking action...bit by bit...even small acts count!
I don't really have anything to share to inspire others but on Tuesday, we were supposed to share a word that described how we were feeling at Bible Study. I chose "discouraged" in light of ~all this~ and after my close friend checked on me though I think all I did was drag her down too. Today, I get this newsletter and the idea to structure the next 40 days as Lent speaks powerfully to my heart - thank you!
Couldn’t your column 40 Days apply just as easily to Republicans as to Democrats. So how is God going to choose who to help? Count the number of prayers from each side? Where and when will the wisdom needed to solve problems come from? Not from God, but from us. And wisdom forces us to think about the end result and in doing that we can see the stark differences in the two parties.
This really helped move me out of despair. Thank you!
I heard this was a day-by-day challenge to read/pray/do each day. I would definitely partake! All I've found is this article. Is there more?
Thanks Mary! I pray for truth to be found in the midst of misinformation.
Just what I needed to hear ... with gratitude and appreciation for this great invitation into Lent.

Thank you, Diana, for pulling us out of panic and reminding us of the simple but profound actions we can take. Bless you.

You are the best, Diana Butler Bass! You have totally reframed this excruciating time in our lives. With deep gratitude for you and your writing!!
Work for Good. In Beauty I walk. (borrowed from Dine/Navajo prayer.)
With beauty before me I walk
With beauty behind me I walk
With beauty above me I walk
With beauty around me I walk
It has become beauty again
In our connections we will move forward.

Yes! I love this and have taught a musical version to my youth choirs over the years.

Help me to remember prayers have been answered in my life. Help me to pray. Help me in my unbelief.
