Thank you for answering my question re "quotidian cross." I, of course, know what "quotidian" means, but I had never heard it associated it with the "Cross." So, that was very enlightening.

Thank you for the daily Advent meditations. They have significantly enriched my experience of this Sacred Season of Light and Love. But, I have a question from today's reflection. Specifically, while I know what "quotidian" means, I don't fully understand what the phrase "born to the quotidian cross" mean, and would appreciate your explanation. Margaret

OK I'll start the comments. Well Barbara got in there begore me. First of all thank you . It is wonderful to anticipate the time I get to read you reflections each day during advent. The word for the day is quotidian . I admit I had to use my older unabridiged to make sure I was understanding the new word for the day.! In this day when conversations, sermons , reading etc. throw out new definitions for older understandings of words, it is nice to come across a new one for me. And yes I love the message of the Quotidian Cross.

Diana, thank you for posting this and the icon of Jesus and Mary. Have loved Janet's depictions since her Jesus of the People. But in this busy time and dreadful news reports I sometimes forget the humanness. This is beautiful as well as the excerpt from the book and various postings. I am renewed with awe for the Birth of Jesus.
