You just reminded me that Lent is coming. It's my favorite spiritual season.

That's great! I didn't know you were in the region, I just found your substack and I'm from the Houston area myself. Do you know of Gerry Beauchemin, author of Hope For All? He's from the Austin area.

A great message on the amazing wonder that is the love and mercy and power of God our Father! If only we could all maintain wonder at his work and his will, rather than fit him into a little box of our own making.

I have been reflecting on the point where knowing meets not knowing. It can be destructive or creative. You added to my reflections by expressing the importance of awe in our lives. If the juncture between knowing and not knowing is met with fear it leads to despair. If it is met with awe it opens up possibility. This is true on a personal and communal level. Lots more to ponder. Thank you for your sermon. I have recently discovered a free online modern poetry course, ModPo, that offers another forum to explore these ideas. I enjoy your use of poetry in your writing.

I know I am late responding . However THANK YOU THANK YOU , THANKYOU, for putting your sermon available for us to listen to . I finally was able yesterday, and wow I took notes. I did read it on Sunday but was still on a full medication mode for an infection that started in one of my baby toes! I am finally able to walk almost normally since yesterday. Thanks be to God. I took several notes and felt and still feel uplifted by your thoughts. Also appreciated community respondents reflections.

Peace and Blessings!

I have been so anxious after reading newspaper articles about the election and about the world outlook. Your sermon helped me take a deep breath and allow myself to be reoriented spiritually. Thank you.

Okay, okay, I give. I finally subscribed to The Cottage. I had read the post, and appreciated the message. But there was something powerful about hearing your voice and emotions come through. When you mentioned lifting your head up from despair and seeing Jesus declare, "Be silent, come out of her!" I had tears. I got emotional because we are all carrying demons from which we need exorcism. Your words were a reminder that we already have hope standing right in front of us. We just need to claim it.

I have long enjoyed your writing and read several of your books, and I decided after listening to your words, I need to step up and support Diana Butler Bass and her work. We need your voice in the world today. Thank you for your voice and your hopefulness.

Now only were the people wonderful, but the stained glass windows were so lovely -- entirely different than what is typically in 100+ year old churches. The vine and fig tree pattern was visually moving.

Where to begin. This was an inspiration, and perfectly timed. Is it just me? I doubt it. Thank you, Diana, as always for the way you make my world a better place. Not just for saying the positive, encouraging messages, but also for reminding me that I am not alone in how I see my faith in this world. I have turned to you every time I've needed that reassurance since 2016.

I must also mention the gift you have given me of Mary Oliver. I may have read her before, but now I seek her out. She is a balm for the soul for all of us who find solace in nature. Thank you.
