You know the importance of what you’ve written when Ruth Ben-Ghiat quotes this article as well as quoting Jamar Tisby. Exceptional.

Thank you.

I'm very grateful for Ruth's generous support and kind words.

I have just ordered your book. My mother on her deathbed was crying , worried because my far right Christian niece had told her if she didn’t know Jesus, she was going to hell. I told my dying mother don’t worry. I’ve read the Bible cover to cover and the greatest of the gifts is love. ❤️ she have always had that for our family. They sent us to catholic school even though it pitched the budget. I told my mom you have one foot on a banana peel and the other in heaven! We are all God’s children. I had a mother superior, who said we all have different keys.

Thank you, Diana. I shall look forward to our history lessons. I walked away from Christianity at an early age when I saw such hypocrisy. I started listening to Christians again after discovering Robert P. Jones, Kristin DuMez, Jemar Tisby and yourself. I became a student of Buddhism and am now beginning to understand such similarities through your group's writings on compassion, understanding and love. A deep bow in gratitude.

Hi Diana,

I have heard from a MAGA spokesperson that they are not in favour of the USA getting involved in another war in the Middle East. I saw it on the Canadian CBC Newsworld.

Is there division in their ranks also?

So excited about your “adult Bible study”. I went to Amazon to buy your book only to find I had purchased it in 2012! Now I just have to poke through the boxes in my garage and find it!

My eschatology charts say that King Cyrus ruled right where modern Iran is located, so you see, Diana, Huckabee is onto something rich in theological acumen … 😊

He looks more like a crusader. They lost Jerusalem. Let's hope they lose again.

Thank you so much for drawing attention to this. I have been expressing this very thing in my small circle for 5 years now. Raised in pentecostalism and nurtured in the charismatic “renewals” of the 80s, this vein of “prophetic” theology is uncomfortably familiar. One of the most influential works for shifting my paradigm around this theology was chapter VIII of G.E. Ladd's Gospel of the Kingdom titled The Kingdom, Israel and the Church.

I was struck by Mike Huckabee's text message. While he did appear to break it up into bullet points, it was likely too long for Trump's attention span so I wonder how much of it Trump actually read. The content was also chilling - he repeatedly says that he is Trump's servant. He does not claim to serve or represent his country or its people; he serves only its king, whom he apparently thinks is anointed by God. That is frightening.

Facing the reality of Diana's post (along with all the devastating news we hear daily) is very draining but so necessary. I have been struggling with finding joy in the midst of so much pain. The Cottage and the spaces of the other members of the Convocation are places where I can recharge. Another resource is Upaya Zen Center. Today I heard a talk by Father Greg Boyle. Perhaps some know about him and his work with gangs in LA. He has written several books about his 35 years of ministry which I also highly recommend. Perhaps he will be of help to others--all of Upaya's programs are free (donations are accepted). Father Boyle's talk is part of a series: AWARENESS IN ACTION: MEETING THE WORLD WITH LIFE-GIVING HANDS – Actualizing Unfaltering Engaged Practice In Our Time. HOMEBOYS with Father Greg Boyle can be found here: https://www.upaya.org/program/engaged-buddhism-online-june-2025/. If you listen, I recommend staying for the questions at the end. Every answer is full of wisdom. Being in community with those committed to helping to create a better world is essential for me. I am grateful for all the online spaces available where I can experience a genuine sense of connection. Thank you, Diana, for allowing us to gather at The Cottage.
