I do not claim Christianity. As a Unitarian Universalist I try to find truth and wisdom from all sources -- and your words certainly do that for me!

Seems to me the true meaning of that verse and the misquoting by Dr. S LEARN from everything: learn who you are; learn what's important, not just to you, but to society/the world; learn patience and fortitude and the realization (noted by K. Pidcock) that every thing belongs.

So very true...gratitude is an attitude we can choose to embrace and live by; and as Richard Rohr reminds us “Everything Belongs”...which to me means we can live into and through any grief life brings, while we mourn what is real...pain, loss, disease, and in my life experience of 81 years, discover the Grace which never abandons!

I very respect your view as the most accurate. “In” requires a deeper dive. “For” resides on the surface. The inner reality within each one of us can be aligned with a faith, hope, and love that transcends all circumstances.
