I prefer “liberator” to “savior” when describing Jesus. It is easier for me to wrap my head around…it seems more accurate….more applicable….more relevant. Now I have been freed and can enter the Kingdom. Whereas before I was trapped, bound and stuck. Thank you for your musing which got me musing!

Yes. This may be the clearest example of Jesus shining a light on the false sanctimony of the religious leadership of that day. Your message is delivered so brightly and clearly. Thank you again for bringing much-needed focus to the true meaning of those readings and how they relate to today's world. I attend a small ancient(1868) rural church on Sundays as regularly as I can, and so appreciate the worship service with the kind people who congregate there. When I'm not able to travel there, I read and enjoy the birdsong and sound of the wind or rain. Thank you, too, for the Wendell Berry and Emily Dickinson readings. They both hit the nail on the head.
