In a longer version of the prayer we say, “… so that I may be reasonably happy in this life…” Reasonably happy, in a world that brings us so close to despair, can be a deep gift (I am in recovery.)

Wanting to say hello from Europe where life does continue as normal. I am off all socials so have the luxury to only check in to what's happening when I have the mental space. And I realise what a huge luxury this is.

I wanted to share something that kept me going when I was ready to give up. This was during a harrowing IVF journey. I felt so defeated! But a little voice (God, because he is heard as a whisper) told me that 'The story isn't over yet'. And from those words I drew the courage to keep going and the following month a miracle happened.

Again when I was in a wheelchair for two years with no hope of recovery due to a neurological disorder, I remembered those words. And when He told me to make some big changes we did. I am now up and walking again.

When we are in the midst of the storm, this can be our only hope.....that the story isn't over yet. We might be stumbling through the valley with no end in sight, but we should always remember that the only thing constant is change.

Only some of us are called to make changes on a large scale. Most of us need to tend to what is within our circle of influence. And if you don't look after yourself and your own nervous system, they will drain you for what you're worth. It's ok to turn the news off and tend to your immediate garden. Your family, friends and community. We can pray for God to bring people our way who we can bless with our actions. And we can get ourselves ready, mentally, spiritually and physically to step up when it's really needed.

Love wins, always ❤️
