About once a month, I get together with Tripp Fuller online to talk about religion and politics for a podcast called Ruining Dinner. It is unscripted, completely dependent on whatever is in the news. It’s an informal “secret” podcast just between friends.
Tripp is, along with being a theologian of religion and science, the host of a great show called Homebrewed Christianity and the creator of some of the best progressive theological content on the web (you may have been in our recent De-Constructed Jesus class). We’ve teamed up to make Ruining Dinner because we wanted a free-wheeling place to talk about subjects that matter. And we named it Ruining Dinner because our mothers (even though I’m old enough to be Tripp’s mom) said we should never discuss religion and politics at supper.
It is for paid subscribers of Homebrewed and The Cottage.
On this month’s installment, we talked about Shall the Fundamentalists Win?, abortion now and in the early church, how politics poisons evangelicalism, and black holes.
Even Tripp’s daughter was excited!
There’s no other podcast quite like Ruining Dinner. It is pretty well summed up by Tripp as “Diana has standards. And I have the mind of a 15 year old boy.”
