Getting back to "nomal" is scary. I have close friends who I what to be with and be "normal" then there are the relatives who don't want a vaccine, who want to take a chance in life that I am not willing to do. I will wear a mask around them and not hug them even though or maybe because I love them . i pray for God to give me strength.

Here is what Schweitzer says about knowing Jesus through experience. It is the last chapter in his "Quest of the Historical Jesus." "He comes to us as One unknown, without a name, as of old by the lake-side, He came to those men who knew Him not. He speaks us the same word: 'Follow thou me!' and sets us to the tasks which He has to fulfill for our time. He commands. And to those who obey Him, whether they be wise or simple, He will reveal Himself in the toils the conflicts the sufferings which they shall pass through in His fellowship, and, as an ineffable mystery, they shall learn in their own experience Who He is."

You may not feel ready, but to use your analogy, I feel like an expectant aunt who can't wait to get my hands on that new baby who so represents new life!

I have basically been confined to my comfy chair for the past year so I have had a fabulous opportunity to read and listen, more than ever before in my life. There are a couple things I do look forward to doing once I get my shot, but I am so glad that people are stuck at home, making podcasts and creating posts that appear on the Internet. I would not be able to be a part of your book launch events, were it not for the fact of YOU being confined to your cottage. I look forward to hearing more. This morning I heard you mentioned a few times as I watched 2 hours of Phyllis Tickle's recordings on Youtube! I hope you'll post links to the interviews and events you're experiencing, albeit from the cottage!

"Freeing Jesus" is a wonderful book, Diana, that I will introduce to my "Faith Matters" blog readers this weekend at https://billtammeus.typepad.com. I, too, have been having the weird experience of launching a new book this year virtually. Mine is "Love, Loss and Endurance: A 9/11 Story of Resilience and Hope in an Age of Anxiety," about the murder of my nephew on 9/11 and about extremist ideas and how to unplug them. See: https://amzn.to/3ltRBn5. Cheers, Bill.

Regarding procrastination...yes. So very yes. I'm almost too tired and anticipatorially disappointed (Is that a thing?) to procrastinate.
