Thank you Diana for your heartfelt, passionate words in this message you gave. I am grateful we can hear it through The Cottage and feel like we are right in the room. Yes, we will be called to stand up and protect the many vulnerable in the days ahead. It really helps to know that we stand with so many others like Bishop Budde and the communion of saints those living now and those who have gone before us. We are all called to "make Good Trouble," is small ways and big. May the God of love and peace guide us.

Dave, I am glad you like the Black Rock City Prayer Book. I am the author of the blessing Diana included. The Prayer Book was created by members of Religious As Fuck, a camp that was created to offer decomodified and non-judgy Christian spiritual practice and hospitality at Burning Man. It is a very fun and rewarding ministry and we are always open to others who may want to join the fun. -Brian Baker

Thank you, Brian for chiming in! I didn't realize that you were the sole author! What a beautiful prayer. I'll make sure to put your name on it when I use it! I appreciate you!

First of all, I have never commented before on any of your sub-stacks. But today, you got my greatest attention! Diana, I felt today, that you were right here with me. For some reason, the way you spoke your wonderful words so kind and endearing were so real like I could touch the screen and felt your presence. I know it's kind of weird to say this, but most times when I listen to youtube or whatever, its just a TV screen staring back at me. Today, was different. What you had to say calmed the truth down. It was okay to hear the bad news from you so gently. It was also a truth I can bear knowing that there are people out there with the same gentleness and kindness as you. Things are so harsh and in-you-face right now. My children keep telling me that real life is not what we are experiencing on the news. They voted for 47 mostly out of not knowing what to do and being less informed than I am. But in essence they don't like the future our world is presenting. But I feel that I need to know even though it's a harsh reality. Today and yesterday, you gave me somethings I can do. I love the Ws! And thanks for reminding me that I am empowered to do something by calling, writing and speaking out for those who have less than me.

This is long but I want to share that I am a writer too. I have self-published 3 books. I am not good at marketing and frankly haven't wanted to put out that energy very much. I am a retired Director of Discipleship from a progressive Presbyterian church. My first book I wrote out of a prayer to God to use me during the pandemic lock down. So, since I'm an artist, I did a complete picture each day that had an encouraging theme and posted to my facebook page for people to share. I did this for 40 days and ended with a picture of Noah's Ark. At the end of the 40 days, I pared my art with my writing and published a devotional, called 40 Days of Love. There is scripture, a prayer, a piece of art and either a poem or story to go with the art. I would love to hear any words that may help me to get my book out there. I felt the publishing world too daunting and confusing so right now I sell it at small local events.

Thanks again for being 100% real today and sharing your heart with all of us! Deb D

Thank you Diana! You give us the possibility of purpose for in community. You make the connections between Jesus and the present moment and time. I left my Catholic Church before the pandemic and have been in search since then. It’s very heavy sometimes. I so appreciate your perseverance, wisdom, experience, leadership and loving heart.

I have used this from the Black Rock prayer Book as a lectio divina for a contemplative service. It needs to be part of a deep meditation practice.

Thank you Diana! An absolutely brilliant, inspiring, and moving interpretation of this text. I have never considered that possibility and have preached on this text for years. In addition to being grateful and encouraged by Bishop Budde’s sermon, your sermon has also lifted my spirits and I hope we hear thousands more like yours and hers in the years to come. I am hopeful that a small number can indeed make a big difference. That is going to be my call as well over these next four years. And I am saying that as a Canadian! Thanks again. Peace and blessings to you.
