Today, I invite you to think about gifts and gratitude.
Researchers at USC discovered that one of the best ways to strengthen gratefulness is to be detailed and specific when journaling about gratitude — the gratitude dividend is in the details. They had one group of students write down five things for which they were grateful every day for a month. The researchers had another group of students write down five sentences about one thing for which they were grateful every day for a month. After the study, the second group — the group that wrote five sentences about one thing — showed greater emotional benefits from the gratitude practice!
With the good gifts of our lives in mind, we’ll write on gifts and gratitude and create a communal thankfulness comment thread.
