DECEMBER 14: VIDEO MEDITATION FOR THE WILDERNESS
If you missed Advent Sunday Musings, you may want to read it before continuing with today’s Advent calendar window — A Wild Christ.
“Wilderness” is both a place of danger and a place of safety.
A portion of Sunday’s post read: The wilderness “is a raw and unknowable place of encounter where we come face-to-face with ourselves, our environment, and our horrors, hallucinations, hungers, and hopes. We find ourselves — and God — in the wilderness. And everything is far more and far different than we imagined.”
Today’s window is from a special guest — Brian McLaren. In his recent book, Do I Stay Christian?, he explored “re-wilding” faith. I asked him to share his insights on wilderness with us.
This reflection closes the second week of our Advent journey that has taken us into the beauty of wilderness.
