I remember singing long ago at the WCC gathering in Vancouver with Bishop Tutu:There is no way to peace; peace is the way.

So grateful for this post- these prayers for peace are a balm for my heavy heart. Thank you for your calming voice in such a troubled time.

Wage peace. I like that. I’m so saddened by the disregard of all those young girls killed while at school

In Iran by the USA. No one will ever know if the next Nobel peace worker was killed that day.

So much of the work of building peace is letting the silence speak, and listening. Thanks as always for your wise example in speechless times. Also, I love the image of peacebuilding as being as concrete as building a piece of furniture. That gets me thinking in all kinds of useful directions: What tools do we need? Where is the workshop? Wonderful.

The verse that has been screaming my head the last two days is Jeremiah 6:10 : "They treated the wound of my people carelessly, saying 'peace, peace,' when there is no peace." It is an indictment of false leadership promising peace and delivering something else. God's prophet was fed up then. What would he say now?

Violence in all forms is an offense to God. Each missile fired is an abomination.

I feel encouraged by people of all ages and all races and faiths out on the streets in Chico and other towns across the U.S. in peaceful protest and encouragement to make changes in policy and choices NOW.

Will the child who loudly cried "the emperor has no clothes" please cry out that our current president was never a president of peace but of anger, hate, divisiveness and war.

Thank you Diana for this hard topic. Babies dying, the outcast fighting for our country! It is devastating, i am grateful for you opening our hearts towards these injustices. 🕊️😢
