The verse that has been screaming my head the last two days is Jeremiah 6:10 : "They treated the wound of my people carelessly, saying 'peace, peace,' when there is no peace." It is an indictment of false leadership promising peace and delivering something else. God's prophet was fed up then. What would he say now?
I feel encouraged by people of all ages and all races and faiths out on the streets in Chico and other towns across the U.S. in peaceful protest and encouragement to make changes in policy and choices NOW.
Will the child who loudly cried "the emperor has no clothes" please cry out that our current president was never a president of peace but of anger, hate, divisiveness and war.
