Wow. I am uplifted by these wonderful souls who have shared with us. Thank you, Diana, for giving us this gift. It fills my heart with possibility even in this difficult time in which we are living. There is something about admitting that living with what is around us is hard. It is nice to know I am not the only one. And I am not the only one looking for the hope and the joy.
I love the song and the quote to introduce it from Henry Wadsworth Longfellow "If we could read the secret history of our enemies, we should find in each man's life sorrow and suffering enough to disarm all hostility". It appears in his 1857 work Driftwood
You an d the community have brought Joy and Hope this Advent and nourished my soul. Grateful. I was happy to see the post from New Zealand I woke up thinking and it is already Christmas some place. Part of the connections of the Cottage. Thank you Diana and Richard and all your guests for being a light this season. You are truly gifted.
Diana, your Advent theme of Justice and Joy has been such an extraordinary gift and every one of the contributors brought hope and inspiration to all of us devastated by the results of the election. It’s hard to believe that only a month ago it seemed impossible to hold out hope for justice or for joy…and yet you have gifted us all with renewed energy for engaging with whatever challenges lie ahead and the faith that joy is always available to us, whatever comes. Merry Christmas!
Thanks for the calendar Diana and Richard. It is Christmas Day in Aotearoa New Zealand. May you all know the blessings of the One born in Bethlehem, when the world was a dark and troubled place, and look for him born again. And hope.
Thank you.
Many thanks for all of these daily gifts of Advent.
I appreciated the wide variety of offerings from some of your many friends.
Thanks for the song . It's very touching.
I learned so much and really enjoyed the advent year. Thank you
