Feeling some hope! Have you heard about the strike on Feb 28th. We are encouraged to spend no money on that day. Perhaps locally owned markets but nothing corporate.

Thank you Diana. Encouraging words. I also love Rosemerry’s poetry and this one is so fitting for today, for this time.

I've been thinking about the demeaning term "snowflake" that has been lobbed at liberals starting around 2016. Meaning liberals don't deserve to govern, because they are tiny and fragile like snowflakes. But you never see a snowflake all by itself trying to change the world. Where there's one snowflake, there are millions. When the snowflakes arrive in mass, I've seen snowflakes carpet a sordid landfill with blazing light. Snowflakes may be fragile, but when they all come together--like a blizzard-- they stop traffic, shut down factories, bring cities to a halt. Pretty good work for a bunch of tiny, melty weaklings!! Thank you Diana for extending the metaphor to all of us, little people, doing our little things. We will add up!

Thank you a million times over! If we each use our "little" bit of power with kindness and love, the total will be awesome. The future is in our hands.

I don't know where this old saying is coming from, but it states " all it takes for evil to win is for good guys to do nothing". Well, a lot of us are not doing nothing and it showed the result this past week, Trump had to change his plan.

Since Democratic states are countering his attacks, he will now attack them individually. Trump is now threatening to pull back transportation funding if my state suggests masking or Covid shots are needed, if it tries to interfere with ICE or immigration policy, if it does not require user fees for the highways ( ironically, the governor had wanted tolls but the republicans brought law suit after law suit to stop that from being instituted) and that states with high marriage rates and high birth rates would be favored over those who do not. We are an expensive state so people are not going to have a dozen children like Elon Musk ( who it is suspected this was his contribution to the nastiness). So expect this type of retaliation. But we won't back down. We are energized. We will not let evil win.

They will win some battles over confirmations, but not all, I believe. This is what happens when they have the majority. I think criticism of the Dems in the house and Senate are unfair. Who deserves the criticism are those who voted for a many times convicted felon and sexual predator and even more so for those many millions who didn't have enough love for their country to bother to vote. So we will all suffer together and hopefully all pull together in two years and four years from now.

Thank you for the W's and for this. I make sense of my feelings with images, and last night one formed clearly in my mind. Flashbangs.

We have survived an onslaught of political flashbangs over the last 10 days. Their purpose is to stun, to interfere with the ability to respond. To paralyze. To freeze.

But with repetition, people become more and more used to them, and they become less and less effective.

The opening salvo has been launched. There have been injuries and deaths. But we are emerging from the smoke with a growing ability to resist. We will not be overcome.
